Amran made a vow to defend his beloved country after suffering personal tragedies during the Japanese Occupation.  His trail saw him through the era of patrotism of the Malays against the Malayan Union, combat with the guerilla communists and the fight for Merdeka by Tunku Abdul Rahman and his team.  He faced his greatest challenge when he fell in love struggling to keep his promise to walk with her into their beautiful multi-racial independent Malaya.
