Advanced Open Water Diver (AOWD) is the next scuba course which gives certified divers the chance to enhance their dive experience and do new things underwater. Open Water divers upgrade themselves to Advanced Open Water Diver by completing five (5) so-called "Adventure Dives" and the related Knowledge Development topics.
Two (2) adventure dives are compulsory for AOWD training: 1. Deep Dive (diving to a depth no greater than 30 metres) 2. Underwater Navigation Three (3) other adventure dives can be selected from any of the following options:
- Peak Performance Buoyancy (highly recommended to improve your buoyancy control underwater)
- Night Diving (exciting!)
- Wreck Diving (visit old sunken ships!)
- Enriched Air Diving (diving using a special blend of gas called Nitrox)
- Diver Propulsion Vehicle Diving (learn to dive using an underwater scooter!)
- Underwater Photography
- Fish Identification (learn to recognise and name those fish!)
- Search & Recovery Diving, etc.
