The MobiSurf U 180 is a Wireless 3G USB Modem that support HSDPA technology capable of data transfer speed of up to 1.8Mbps down and 384kbps uplink. It is also backward compatible to UMTS/EDGE/GPRS networks.
The modem provides golobal wireless access to the internet and e-mails. MobiSurf is compatible with data services offered by Celcom, DiGi and Maxis. The MobiSurf U180 is SierraWireless AirCard enabled. The heart of this USB modem contains the SierraWireless MC8755 minicard which utilizes the same technologies in the highly successful SierraWireless AirCard 850.
The U180 connects via a standard USB port on the PC and power is provided from the USB port, making the modem a truly portable solution. Demand is growing for USB connectivity where PCs are not supplied with PCMCIA card slots, such as with small size notebooks, some desktops or embedded applications.
