Haisan’s history dates back to 1970 when Hai San & Sons Sdn Bhd was incorporated as a trading company dealing in refrigerating equipment and renting of jetties. Then in 1976, Haisan ventured into ice manufacturing. In the beginning, Haisan produced only 90 metric tons of block ice per day; today, Haisan has a capacity to produce 450 metric tons of block ice and 300 metric tons of tube ice daily.
In the 1980s, Haisan started moving upstream by providing engineering services in industrial refrigeration.
Haisan is presently a leading turnkey fabricator-contractor of industrial refrigeration equipment and facilities in the region, with projects implemented or equipment installed in Singapore, Myanmar, Pakistan, Indonesia, Brunei, Sudan, Sri Lanka, and Bangladesh.
Subsequently in the early 1990s, Haisan saw opportunities in providing third party logistics services to importers and exporters that operate in the vicinity of Port Klang - Haisan's centre of operations. Haisan then began to invest in modern cold storage facilities in Malaysia, Philippines and China, as well as to build warehouses for general and bonded goods. In addition, Haisan has formed strategic partnerships with industry leaders to offer total logistics solutions.
